Sand on the pool bottom looks like the moons surface at night with the light on?

This is normal with a sand pool bottom, The sand is tamped and troweled, and also there are thousands of tons of water on top of it as well. It will shift and move when walked on, as you use your new pool it will start to blend together over time, the longer the pool sits the harder the sand bottom will become.

Water level dropping?

Check the filter and skimmer and return line connections for leaks, touch the hoses to see if they are wet. If yes; see Problem # 3. Filter / skimmer leaks.

Walk around the outside of the pool to check for wet spots before anyone uses the pool that particular day. (constant water running out from under the pool bottom track), Condensation is normal around the bottom of the pool after the initial pool filling, about 4 to 6 inches on the ground around the pools perimeter is common, if the outside stays sopping wet in a certain area, Look on the inside of the pool for a hole in the liner or a split on the liner seam. ( A hole can be patched a seam split cannot ) If you suspect a seam split or cannot see a hole call our office for a service call.

Note: You can also try to find the cause by looking under water with goggles on, HOWEVER if you find a hole on the seam don’t touch it or apply pressure to it. This could be Dangerous!!! Call our office to schedule a service call, the liner will need to be replaced, Under no circumstances try to patch the hole on the liner seam.

Loosing 1-2” inches of water a day when the pool is being used is normal, Water loss is caused by splashing and evaporation.

A good way to check to see if the water loss is from evaporation, try the Bucket Test: place a bucket filled with water close to the pool in the sun, and mark the water level in the bucket, then mark the pool water level with a piece of tape on the inside pool wall, and do not use the pool, if the same amount of water is missing from the bucket as the pool then the water loss is from evaporation not a hole in the liner.

Note: Patching holes created by anyone other than C&D’S Installers is not covered by the warranty, a charge will apply For the leak detection and hole patching.

Filter / Skimmer Leak?

Tighten the skimmer screws, do not over tighten and strip the screws out, tighten until snug and then a ¼ turn more. Tighten PVC fittings, don’t over tighten they only need to be snug NOT TIGHT. Tighten all the hose clamps don’t over tighten. If clamps do not tighten replace. If this doesn’t take care of the leak check for cracks or splits in the hoses and fittings, replace any hoses needed or fittings (call the dealer were pool was purchased from to receive replacement parts).

Note: This will not void your Warrantee on the pool installation, always use Teflon tape and /or silicone on fittings when replacing.

Liner hanging down on the outside of the pool wall after installation?

The liner hanging down on the outside of the pool wall is excess liner that was rolled up and concealed under the top ledge of the pool for aesthetic reasons.

Note: Take a pair of scissors and cut off the excess and save for future patches, or throw it away.
